South Bank, part of La Perouse Bank off Bamfield, British Columbia, is an outer-exposed flat with mixed bottom lying in 180 to 300 feet of water. The open, offshore ground draws Pacific Halibut from March through August and Lingcod through two windows, February to April and July to September. Chinook Salmon move through from May to August, with Coho Salmon following from May into September. Anglers work the bottom here with drift jigging for halibut, using leadhead jigs with soft plastics or metal jigs across the mixed structure, while jigging with metal jigs and swimbaits takes lingcod holding near the seabed. Salmon come to trolling with anchovy, herring, flashers, and hootchies over the same deep flat.
