Hump 1.3 km W of April Point is a rock pinnacle rising from the seabed off Campbell River, sitting in mid-exposure water with depths running from 260 to 660 feet. The structure holds Lingcod, which peak from May through June and again from August into September, alongside Pacific Halibut that stay active from April through September. Chinook Salmon move through from June to August and Coho from May into September, while the deeper rock supports Pacific Cod and several rockfish species including darkblotched, rougheye, and shortraker. Anglers work the pinnacle for Lingcod with metal jigs, leadhead jigs and swimbaits, or drop whole herring and octopus on the rock, while Halibut come to leadhead jigs and swimbaits drifted over the bottom. Salmon are taken by trolling anchovy, herring, spoons and hootchies through the water column above the structure.
