April Point sits off Campbell River in British Columbia at coordinates 50.0645, -125.2386, within DFO subarea 13-3, marking a rock-bottom drop-off with mid-range exposure that falls through depths of 260 to 660 feet. The structure holds Chinook Salmon through their June to August peak and Coho Salmon across a long May to September window, while Lingcod concentrate here from May to June and again from August to September. Chinook fishing centers on trolling anchovy, herring, trolling spoons, and hootchies along the drop-off, with mooching cut-plug herring or jigging metal jigs working the same edge. Coho respond to trolling spoons, hootchies, and cut plug herring behind flashers, and bucktailing near the surface adds a second approach over the deeper water. Lingcod hold tight to the rock, where jigging metal jigs and leadhead jigs with swimbaits reaches them along the steepest sections, and Canary Rockfish, Copper Rockfish, Pacific Cod, and Sablefish share the same bottom.
