STRUCTURE
Pinnacle
Mid

Gowlland Island is a rock pinnacle near Campbell River, British Columbia, rising through mid-exposure water where depths run from 10 to 60 feet. The structure holds Lingcod, which peak from May to June and again from August to September, alongside Black Rockfish that stay active from May through September and Quillback Rockfish working the same rocky ground. Pacific Halibut move across the deeper edges from April to September, while Chinook Salmon peak June to August and Coho Salmon hold from May through September in the surrounding current. Jigging with metal jigs, leadhead jigs, or soft plastic swimbaits works the pinnacle for Lingcod and rockfish, and drift jigging over the bottom targets Halibut. Salmon respond to trolling with anchovy, herring, spoons, and hootchies through the passing tide.
