Kuhushan Point is a rock drop-off off Comox, British Columbia, where the bottom falls away through an outer, exposed stretch of water spanning depths from 20 to 150 feet. The point holds Chinook Salmon at their peak from June through August and Coho Salmon from May through September, with Pacific Halibut running strong March through July and Lingcod available across most of the year, peaking January through March and again May through September. Trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, and hootchies along the drop-off works the salmon, while mooching cut-plug herring covers the Chinook holding closer to structure. Drift jigging leadhead jigs, swimbaits, and metal jigs targets halibut over the rock, and the same jigging approach paired with swimbaits or whole herring bait produces lingcod against the harder bottom. The rocky structure across this depth range also supports Pacific Cod and rockfish, including Canary and Yellowmouth.
