Longbeak Point is an outer-exposed rocky drop-off off Comox, British Columbia, where the bottom falls through roughly 260 to 660 feet. Chinook Salmon hold here through their June–August peak and Coho run from May into September, both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, and hootchies, with mooching cut-plug herring as a supporting approach along the edge. The rock structure supports Lingcod, which peak in January–March and again from May through September, along with Black Rockfish concentrated from June to August—both respond to jigging metal and leadhead jigs over the drop. Pacific Halibut move onto the deeper flats near the base of the slope from March through July, where drift jigging leadhead jigs and swimbaits covers the bottom effectively. The steep transition from rock to depth keeps fish stacked along the break, making the contour itself the feature to work.
