Union Point sits off Comox, British Columbia, where an outer-exposed rock drop-off falls from 260 to 660 feet along the open coast. The structure holds Chinook Salmon at their peak from June through August and Coho Salmon across a long window from May into September, with anglers working trolled anchovy, herring, spoons, and hootchies over the slope. Pacific Halibut move through from March to July, taken by drift jigging leadhead jigs, swimbaits, and metal jigs along the deeper rock. Lingcod stack on the structure with peaks in January through March and again May through September, responding to metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs, while Black Rockfish hold shallower through the summer and take jigs and soft plastic swimbaits. The exposed depth and rock bottom also produce Pacific Cod and hold Pacific Herring that draw the larger predators up the drop-off.
