STRUCTURE
Kelp Reef
Mid

Enterprise Reef is a mid-exposure kelp reef in Stuart Channel off Cowichan, British Columbia, where rock structure rises through water running 40 to 120 feet deep. Lingcod peak from June through August and hold tight to the reef's rock, responding to jigging with swimbaits, metal jigs, and bucktail jigs, while aggregate rockfish stay catchable year-round on metal jigs and leadhead jigs with soft plastics. Chinook salmon move through from June to September and take well to downrigger trolling with anchovy in teaser heads, hootchies, and flashers along the reef edges. Coho follow from June into October, worked with trolling spoons and hootchies or bucktail flies over the same structure. The kelp and rocky bottom concentrate baitfish here, making the reef margins and depth breaks the most productive water to fish.
