Grave Point is an outer-exposed rock drop-off in the Cowichan region of British Columbia, where the bottom falls away through depths of 260 to 660 feet. Chinook Salmon hold here through their June to September peak, joined by Coho Salmon from June into October, while Pacific Halibut work the deeper structure from March to July and Lingcod concentrate over the rock from June to August. Downrigger trolling with anchovy in teaser heads, hootchies, or flashers covers the salmon along the edge, and mooching cut-plug herring works the same water when fish sit tight to the drop. For halibut, drift jigging with leadhead jigs and swimbait tails or heavy metal jigs reaches the deep bottom, and lingcod respond to jigging with swimbaits and metal jigs over the rock. Pacific Cod, Canary Rockfish, Pacific Ocean Perch, and Sablefish also occupy the deeper reaches of this drop-off.
