Paddy Mile Stone is an outer-exposed rock drop-off in the Cowichan waters of British Columbia, where the bottom falls through roughly 260 to 660 feet. Chinook Salmon run strongest from June through September and Coho Salmon from June into October, making the spot a consistent summer salmon destination, while Pacific Halibut peak earlier from March through July. Lingcod and Black Rockfish hold along the rocky structure from late spring into summer, and Copper Rockfish stay catchable through the year. Anglers work the salmon with downrigger trolling using anchovy in teaser heads, hootchies, and flashers, or drop to cut-plug herring on the mooch when fish sit deeper along the ledge. Over the rock itself, jigging with metal jigs and soft plastic swimbaits takes Lingcod, Black Rockfish, and Copper Rockfish, while drift jigging with leadhead jigs and heavy metal jigs reaches Halibut across the deeper drop.
