Erskine Point is an outer-exposed rock drop-off in the Cowichan area of British Columbia, where the bottom falls away through depths of roughly 260 to 660 feet. The structure holds Chinook Salmon at their peak from June through September and Coho Salmon from June into October, with downrigger trolling using anchovy in teaser heads, hootchies, and flashers working the salmon along the edge. Pacific Halibut move onto the deeper flats from March through July and respond to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and heavy metal jigs worked near the bottom. The rocky drop-off also supports Lingcod from June through August and Black Rockfish from May through August, both taken by jigging metal and soft plastic jigs tight to the structure. Canary Rockfish, Blue Shark, and Pacific Cod round out the mix over this exposed rock ground.
