Burgoyne Bay sits on the southwest shore of Saltspring Island in the Cowichan region of British Columbia, a sheltered inlet within DFO subarea 18-7 that drops through waters of 40 to 150 feet. The bay holds aggregate rockfish, which stay accessible year-round with a broad peak spanning January through December. Anglers work the deeper structure with jigging as the primary method, running metal jigs, leadhead jigs dressed with soft plastics, or swimbaits down to the fish holding near bottom. Bait fishing supports the approach, with herring, squid, or octopus strips presented across the same depth band. The combination of consistent rockfish presence and a wide working range makes the bay a steady target through every season.
