Outer Exposed

Atrevida Point is a rocky drop-off on the outer exposed coast near Gold River, British Columbia, where the bottom falls from roughly 260 to 660 feet. Chinook Salmon move through from May to September and Coho Salmon follow from June to October, both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, and hootchies along the edge of the structure. Lingcod hold on the rock through the February-to-April and August-to-September windows and respond to jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs. Pacific Halibut work the deeper sections from March to August, where drift jigging with leadhead jigs and soft plastics or metal jigs reaches fish along the slope. The steep rock profile also holds Bocaccio, Darkblotched Rockfish, Sablefish, and Pacific Cod at depth.
