East Muchalat Inlet Hump

East Muchalat Inlet Hump is a rocky pinnacle off Gold River, British Columbia, rising through mid-exposure water that spans roughly 25 to 600 feet. The structure holds Lingcod, which peak from February through April and again in August and September, alongside Pacific Halibut through the March-to-August window. Chinook Salmon move over the hump from May into September, while Coho Salmon follow from June through October, and the surrounding rock also supports Canary Rockfish, Widow Rockfish, and Pacific Cod. Lingcod respond to jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs worked along the rock, and drift jigging with leadhead jigs and soft plastics or herring covers the deeper halibut ground. For salmon, trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, and hootchies across the pinnacle takes both Chinook and Coho during their overlapping summer runs.
