About Santa Saturnina Point

Santa Saturnina Point is an outer-exposed rocky drop-off off Gold River, British Columbia, where the bottom falls through 260 to 660 feet. Chinook Salmon hold here from May through September and Coho Salmon from June through October, both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, and hootchies, with mooching cut-plug herring a productive alternative for Chinook along the edge. Lingcod work the rock structure with peaks in February through April and again in August and September, responding to jigged metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs. Pacific Halibut move across the deeper contours from March through August and come to drift-jigged leadheads with soft plastics or baited herring worked along the bottom. Rockfish, Sablefish, and Pacific Cod round out the mix over this deep exposed structure.
