Amos Island sits off Kyuquot on British Columbia's outer coast, a rock drop-off exposed to open water where depths fall from about 330 to 1,310 feet. Chinook Salmon hold here from May through August and Coho Salmon from June through September, both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, hootchies, and spoons, with mooching cut-plug or whole herring as an alternative along the edge. Lingcod work the rocky structure with peaks in spring and again through summer, best reached by jigging metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs over the drop. Pacific Halibut move through from March into August, worked by drift jigging leadhead jigs and swimbaits along the deeper bottom. Canary Rockfish, Sablefish, and Pacific Cod share the same rock and depth, rounding out the mix over this exposed structure.
