McLean Point sits off Kyuquot on British Columbia's outer exposed coast, where a rock drop-off falls through depths of 260 to 660 feet. Chinook Salmon hold here from May through August and Coho Salmon from June through September, both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, and hootchies, with mooching cut-plug or whole herring a supporting option. Lingcod work the rock structure with peaks in spring and again through summer, responding to metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs along the drop. Pacific Halibut range across the same bottom from March into August and come to drift-jigged leadhead jigs and swimbaits or bottom bait such as whole herring and squid. Canary Rockfish, Copper Rockfish, and Pacific Cod share the rocky depths.
