Yakats Rock is an exposed rock pinnacle off Kyuquot, British Columbia, rising through water that runs from the surface down to about 90 feet on the outer coast. Chinook Salmon peak here from May through August and Coho Salmon from June through September, with trolling anchovy, herring, hootchies, and spoons working the upper water column over the structure. The rock and its broken bottom hold Lingcod, strongest from March into May and again from June through August, along with Black Rockfish from March through September, both of which respond to jigging metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and soft plastic swimbaits close to the pinnacle. Pacific Halibut move through the surrounding depths from March through August and take drift-jigged leadheads and swimbaits along the bottom. Quillback Rockfish and Kelp Greenling round out the mix over the same rocky terrain.
