About Nipple Rocks

Nipple Rocks is an outer-exposed rock pinnacle off Kyuquot, British Columbia, rising through a water column that runs 35 to 385 feet. The structure holds Lingcod, which peak from March through May and again June through August, alongside Pacific Halibut on the deeper margins from March through August. Chinook Salmon move through from May to August and Coho follow June through September, working the same exposed water. Anglers target Lingcod over the rock with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs, or fall back on whole herring and live greenling when the fish sit tight to structure. Halibut come to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and swimbaits across the pinnacle's base, while salmon respond to trolled anchovy, herring, and hootchies through the upper water.
