Nipple Rocks Hump is a rocky pinnacle rising off the outer exposed coast near Kyuquot, British Columbia, where the bottom climbs sharply through a depth range of 35 to 385 feet. The structure holds Lingcod, which peak from March through May and again from June through August, alongside Pacific Halibut that fish well from March into August. Chinook Salmon move through from May to August and Coho Salmon from June into September, with the pinnacle also giving up Rougheye, Shortraker, and Darkblotched Rockfish over its deeper rock. Lingcod respond to jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs worked close to the structure, while halibut come on drift jigging along the surrounding depth. For salmon, trolling anchovy, herring, hootchies, and spoons covers the water above the hump, and mooching cut-plug herring works the tide lines that sweep this exposed ground.
