Cluster Rocks is an outer-exposed rocky pinnacle in DFO subarea 17-7 off Nanaimo, British Columbia, rising through depths of 180 to 280 feet. The structure holds resident Lingcod, which peak from March through April and again from May into August, alongside Pacific Halibut, Canary Rockfish, and Rougheye Rockfish across the deeper rock. Lingcod respond to jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs worked close to the pinnacle, while Pacific Halibut come to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and soft plastics, metal jigs, or herring along the surrounding bottom. Chinook and Coho Salmon move through from June into September and are targeted by trolling anchovy, herring, flashers with hoochies, and trolling spoons over the exposed structure. The depth and rock relief here reward precise presentations held tight to the pinnacle rather than drifts that swing off into open water.
