Pimbury Point is an outer-exposed rocky drop-off in DFO subarea 17-13 off Nanaimo, British Columbia, where the bottom falls away through depths of roughly 260 to 660 feet. Chinook and Coho Salmon are the primary summer targets here, both peaking from June through September, while Lingcod hold on the structure from March through August and Black Rockfish stay active from February into September. Trolling anchovy, herring, or flashers with hoochies works the upper water column for salmon, and jigging metal jigs or swimbaits down along the rock face takes Lingcod and Black Rockfish. The steep drop-off also supports Pacific Halibut, which respond to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and soft plastics or metal jigs over the deeper contours. Pacific Cod and English Sole round out the mix across the broader depth range.
