Cascade Harbour Hump

Cascade Harbour Hump is a rocky pinnacle rising from the outer, exposed waters off Port Hardy, British Columbia, with depths running from 100 to 250 feet. The structure holds Lingcod, which peak from May through August, alongside Pacific Halibut that fish best from March into August, plus resident Rougheye Rockfish and Sablefish on the deeper rock. Lingcod respond well to jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, or leadhead jigs tipped with soft plastics over the pinnacle's harder edges, while halibut come to drift fishing with whole herring, salmon bellies, octopus, or squid across the surrounding bottom. Chinook Salmon and Coho Salmon move through the same water from late spring into fall, with Chinook peaking May through August and Coho from June into September, both taken by trolling herring, anchovy, spoons, hootchies, or flashers. The exposed position and depth range reward working baits close to the rock structure where currents concentrate fish.
