Charlie Islands is an outer-exposed rocky drop-off off Port Hardy, British Columbia, where the bottom falls away through depths of roughly 330 to 1310 feet. The structure draws Chinook Salmon and Lingcod through their May to August peaks, with Coho Salmon building from June into September and Pacific Halibut running strong from March to August. Trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, or hootchies works the salmon along the edge, while mooching cut herring covers the same water at a slower pace. Lingcod hold tight to the rock, where metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs with soft plastics reach them, and drift fishing whole herring, octopus, or squid puts baits down to the halibut. Canary Rockfish, Pacific Cod, and Sablefish share the deeper rock along the same drop.
