Eagle Island sits off Port Hardy on British Columbia's northern coast, a rock drop-off with mid-range exposure that falls from 5 to 65 feet. The structure holds Lingcod through its May–August peak and Pacific Halibut from March into August, with Chinook Salmon following the same May–August window and Coho building from June through September. Anglers work the rocky edges with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs for lingcod, while black rockfish hold along the same broken bottom and take jigs or soft plastic swimbaits from late spring into fall. Halibut come off the deeper flats on drift-fished whole herring, salmon bellies, or octopus, and salmon respond to trolled anchovy, herring, and spoons over the drop. Copper and canary rockfish, along with Pacific cod, round out the mix across the depth range.
