Dillon Point is an outer-exposed rock drop-off off Port Hardy, British Columbia, where the bottom falls from roughly 260 to 660 feet. The structure holds a mix of salmon and groundfish through the season, with Chinook Salmon peaking May through August, Coho Salmon June through September, Pacific Halibut March through August, and Lingcod May through August, alongside Pacific Cod, Sablefish, and Pacific Ocean Perch. Anglers work the upper water column for Chinook by trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, and hootchies, while Coho respond to trolling spoons, hoochies, and cut-plug herring behind flashers. Along the deeper rock, drift fishing whole herring, salmon bellies, octopus, or squid targets halibut, and jigging metal jigs, swimbaits, or leadhead jigs with soft plastics accounts for Lingcod. The steep depth transition concentrates fish along the break, making it a reliable structure to fish across the full range from 260 to 660 feet.
