Greeting Point Hump is a rocky pinnacle in outer, exposed water off Port Hardy, rising through depths of 100 to 250 feet. The structure holds Lingcod and Rockfish year-round, with Lingcod peaking May through August and Pacific Halibut running strong from March into August across the surrounding rubble and drop-offs. Chinook Salmon move through from May to August and Coho follow from June into September, making the hump a spot where bottom fishing and salmon work overlap through summer. Anglers target Lingcod by jigging metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs with soft plastics over the rock, while Halibut come to drift fishing with whole herring, salmon bellies, octopus, or squid worked along the deeper margins. Chinook and Coho respond to trolling spoons, herring, and hootchies across the pinnacle's edges as the tide pushes bait over the high ground.
