STRUCTURE
Pinnacle
Outer Exposed

The Hump 1.9 km NE of Morgan Shoal is a rock pinnacle rising from outer, exposed waters off Port Hardy, British Columbia, with depths ranging from 70 to 465 feet. Pacific Halibut and Chinook Salmon peak from March through August and May through August respectively, while Lingcod hold to the structure from May through August, and Rougheye Rockfish, Shortraker Rockfish, Pacific Cod, and Sablefish work the deeper rock throughout the year. Anglers targeting halibut drift whole herring, salmon bellies, octopus, or squid across the pinnacle, and anchor fishing with salmon heads holds a bait in place over the deeper reaches. Lingcod respond to metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs bounced along the rock crown, or bait fished with whole herring and live greenling. Chinook come to trolled anchovy, herring, spoons, and hootchies, with mooching and metal jigs producing over the same structure.
