Dickenson Point is an outer-exposed rocky drop-off near Port McNeill, British Columbia, where the bottom falls away through depths of 260 to 660 feet. Chinook Salmon peak here from May through August, with Coho Salmon running May through September, while Pacific Halibut hold along the deeper structure from May to August. Lingcod fish through several windows across the year, strongest in June and July and again from August into September, and Black Rockfish stack up over the rock from March through September. Anglers troll whole herring, anchovy, and flashers with hootchies for Chinook and switch to trolling spoons and cut-plug herring for Coho, while drift jigging with leadhead jigs and swimbaits works the drop-off for Halibut. The rocky bottom rewards jigging with metal jigs and soft plastic swimbaits for Lingcod and Black Rockfish holding tight to structure.
