Haddington Reefs is an outer-exposed rocky pinnacle off Port McNeill, British Columbia, rising through water from the surface down to about 80 feet. The structure holds a dense rockfish community, with Black Rockfish peaking March through September alongside Blue, Canary, and China Rockfish, while Lingcod concentrate over the rock in February and March and again from June through September. Jigging with metal jigs, leadhead jigs, or soft plastic swimbaits works the pinnacle for both Black Rockfish and Lingcod, and bait fishing whole herring or squid pulls larger Lingcod off the harder edges. Pacific Halibut move through from May to August and respond to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and plastic swimbaits over the deeper broken bottom. Chinook Salmon run May through August and Coho from May through September, both taken by trolling flashers with hootchies, trolling spoons, or cut-plug herring across the exposed reef.
