Broad Point is an outer-exposed rocky drop-off near Port McNeill, British Columbia, where the bottom falls through 260 to 660 feet of water. The structure holds Chinook Salmon from May through August and Coho Salmon from May into September, with Pacific Halibut sharing the same May-to-August window and Lingcod peaking across late winter and again through summer into early fall. Anglers work the Chinook by trolling whole herring, anchovy, trolling spoons, or flashers with hootchies, and switch to mooching cut-plug herring along the edge when fish sit tight to the wall. Halibut come off the deeper bottom on drift-jigged leadheads with plastic swimbaits or metal jigs, while Lingcod take metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs worked over the rock. Pacific Cod, Canary Rockfish, and Pacific Ocean Perch also hold along this exposed drop-off.
