Kish Rock is an exposed offshore pinnacle rising from rocky bottom off Port McNeill, British Columbia, with fishable structure spanning from the surface down to about 90 feet. The pinnacle holds a strong resident population of Copper Rockfish and Black Rockfish, with the coppers peaking from June through September and the blacks running well from March through September. Lingcod work the rocky ledges through multiple windows, notably February to March and again from June into September, while Pacific Halibut hold on the deeper margins from May through August. Chinook and Coho Salmon move past the outer edges through the summer, Chinook peaking May to August and Coho stretching from May into September. Anglers jig metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and soft plastic swimbaits over the rock for lingcod and rockfish, drift jig the deeper contours for halibut, and troll whole herring, spoons, or flashers along the outer structure for salmon.
