Leonard Point is an outer-exposed rock drop-off near Port McNeill, British Columbia, where the bottom falls away through depths of 260 to 660 feet. The structure holds Chinook Salmon peaking May through August and Coho Salmon from May into September, while Pacific Halibut concentrate over the deeper contours during the same May-to-August window. Lingcod work the rock in multiple pushes across February–March, June–July, and August–September, and Black Rockfish stay active from March through September. Trolling whole herring, anchovy, or flashers with hootchies covers the salmon along the edge, while drift jigging leadhead jigs with plastic swimbaits or metal jigs reaches halibut on the bottom. For lingcod and rockfish, jigging metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs works the exposed rock directly beneath the boat.
