Meynell Point is an outer-exposed rocky drop-off near Port McNeill, British Columbia, where the bottom falls steeply through depths of 260 to 660 feet. Chinook Salmon peak from May through August and Coho Salmon run from May into September, both taken by trolling whole herring, anchovy, trolling spoons, and flashers with hootchies along the edge, with mooching cut-plug herring a supporting option. Lingcod hold on the rock structure with peaks in February through March, June through July, and August into September, and respond to jigging metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs. Pacific Halibut move through from May to August and come to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and plastic swimbaits worked over the deeper contours. The steep relief also holds Canary Rockfish, Widow Rockfish, Pacific Cod, and Sablefish across the drop-off.
