The Foster Island Hump is an outer-exposed rock pinnacle rising off the seafloor near Port McNeill, British Columbia, with depths running from 165 to 345 feet. Lingcod hold on this structure through several peaks across February–March, June–July, and August–September, while Pacific Halibut move through the deeper edges from May to August and Chinook Salmon run the same May-through-August window. Black Rockfish work the pinnacle from March into September, with Coho Salmon adding to the surface fishery from May through September. Anglers target the lingcod and black rockfish with jigging using metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and soft plastic swimbaits over the rock, while drift jigging with leadhead jigs and salmon belly covers the halibut across the deeper bottom. Chinook and Coho respond to trolling with whole herring, spoons, and flashers along the exposed water surrounding the high spot.
