Lizard Point is an outer-exposed rock drop-off off Port McNeill, British Columbia, where the bottom falls from roughly 260 to 660 feet. The steep structure concentrates Chinook Salmon from May through August and Coho Salmon from May into September, with anglers working the upper water column by trolling whole herring, anchovy, or flashers with hootchies, and switching to mooching cut-plug herring when fish hold tighter to the break. Pacific Halibut hold on the deeper flats and slopes through the May-to-August peak, taken by drift jigging leadhead jigs with plastic swimbaits or metal jigs along the base of the drop. Lingcod stack on the rock through several windows across February to September, responding to metal jigs and swimbaits fished close to the structure. Black Rockfish work the same rocky edges from March into September and take metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and soft plastic swimbaits.
