Stephenson Islet Hump

Stephenson Islet Hump is a rocky pinnacle in the outer exposed waters off Port McNeill, British Columbia, rising through depths of roughly 60 to 250 feet. The structure holds Lingcod, which peak in February through March, June through July, and August through September, alongside Pacific Halibut and Chinook Salmon that both run strongest from May through August. Deep-water rockfish including Rougheye, Shortraker, and Darkblotched share the rock along with Sablefish. Anglers work the pinnacle for Lingcod with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs, or drop whole herring and squid along the rock for bait fishing. Halibut come to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and swimbaits over the deeper flanks, while Chinook are taken by trolling whole herring, anchovy, and flashers with hootchies through the upper water column.
