Twin Islets Hump

Twin Islets Hump is an outer-exposed rock pinnacle off Port McNeill, rising through water that runs 170 to 450 feet deep. The structure holds Lingcod, which peak from February through March, again in June and July, and once more from August into September, alongside Pacific Halibut that concentrate from May through August. Chinook and Coho Salmon both move through the area during the summer, Chinook peaking May to August and Coho holding from May into September, while Rougheye Rockfish and Pacific Cod round out the bottom fishery. Anglers work the pinnacle for Lingcod with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs, or drop whole herring and squid on the rock, while Halibut respond to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and plastic swimbaits over the deeper flanks. Salmon are taken on the troll with whole herring, anchovy, trolling spoons, and flashers with hootchies as they pass the exposed high spot.
