STRUCTURE
Pinnacle
Outer Exposed

Cerantes Rocks is an outer-exposed rocky pinnacle off Port Renfrew, British Columbia, where the bottom rises through a broad 5 to 90 foot range. The structure holds a strong resident population of Lingcod, which peak from May through August, alongside Quillback, China, and Copper Rockfish and Black Rockfish that run from March into September. Pacific Halibut work the deeper edges from March through August, while Chinook Salmon (May through September) and Coho Salmon (June through September) move past the pinnacle through summer. Anglers jig metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs over the rock for Lingcod and Black Rockfish, and drift heavier leadhead jigs with herring or octopus across the deeper contours for Halibut. Salmon here respond to trolled anchovy, herring, and spoons over the exposed shelf, with mooching cut-plug herring a workable option for Chinook.
