Madrona Point sits off Qualicum Beach on the outer exposed coast, where a rocky drop-off falls through depths of 260 to 660 feet. The structure concentrates Chinook Salmon at their peak from July through September and Coho Salmon across a long window from June into October, with both responding to trolling spoons, hootchies, and bait fished behind a flasher. Lingcod hold on the rock through their winter peak from January to March, taken by jigging metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs along the edges. Black Rockfish work the same terrain from April through September, while Pacific Halibut move over the deeper flats from March into August, where drift fishing whole herring, octopus, or large jigs reaches them near the bottom. Quillback Rockfish and Pacific Cod round out the mix over the exposed rocky floor.
