Corning Point Hump is a rocky pinnacle in the outer exposed waters off Tofino, British Columbia, rising through depths that run from the surface to about 90 feet. The structure holds Lingcod and Rockfish year-round, with lingcod peaking May through August, while Pacific Halibut stack up over the nearby bottom from March into June. Chinook Salmon move through from May to August and Coho follow from June into October, alongside resident Sablefish and Pacific Cod. Anglers work the rock with metal jigs, soft plastic swimbaits, and leadhead jigs for lingcod, and drift jigging with leadhead jigs and soft plastics or metal jigs takes halibut along the base. Salmon come to trolled anchovy, herring, hootchies, and spoons over the pinnacle, with mooching cut-plug herring a productive option for chinook holding tight to the structure.
