STRUCTURE
Pinnacle
Outer Exposed

Hankin Rock is an outer-exposed rocky pinnacle off Tofino, British Columbia, rising through depths that run from 80 to 425 feet. The structure holds Pacific Halibut, which peak from March through June, alongside Lingcod that peak May through August and a mix of Canary, Rosy, and Rougheye Rockfish plus Sablefish across the deeper contours. Chinook Salmon (peak May–Aug) and Coho Salmon (peak Jun–Oct) move through the surrounding water, with trolling anchovy, herring, hootchies, or spoons the primary approach for both. Halibut come to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and soft plastics, metal jigs, or salmon bellies over the bottom, while Lingcod respond to jigging metal jigs, soft plastic swimbaits, and leadhead jigs worked tight to the pinnacle. The steep rock and broad depth range let anglers stack tactics vertically, from bottom baits for halibut to jigging the rock face for lingcod.
