Lennard Island sits off Tofino, British Columbia, marking a rocky drop-off that falls from the surface to about 70 feet along a mid-exposure stretch of coast. Chinook Salmon run the structure through their May to August peak, with Coho following from June into October and Pacific Halibut holding best from March to June. Trolling anchovy, herring, hootchies, or spoons works the salmon over the edge, while drift jigging with leadhead jigs and soft plastics or metal jigs targets halibut down near the bottom. The rock ledge also supports Lingcod, which peak from May to August and respond to metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs, alongside Copper Rockfish and other resident rockfish worked with jigs or cut bait close to the reef. The 0 to 70 foot range keeps salmon, groundfish, and rockfish within reach of a single set of drifts along the drop-off.
