STRUCTURE
Pinnacle
Outer Exposed

Nob Rock is an exposed rocky pinnacle off Tofino, British Columbia, rising through water that runs from the surface down to about 70 feet on the outer coast. The structure holds a strong rockfish population, with Black Rockfish peaking from May through September and Copper Rockfish available across a long window from February to October, both of which respond well to jigging with metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and soft plastic swimbaits over the rock. Lingcod concentrate on the pinnacle from May through August and take metal jigs and soft plastic swimbaits, or whole herring, squid, and live greenling fished on the bottom. Chinook Salmon move through between May and August, worked by trolling anchovy, herring, hootchies, and spoons, while Coho follow from June into October on trolled hoochies, spoons, and bait in a teaser head. Pacific Halibut peak March through June on the sand and rock margins, targeted by drift jigging leadhead jigs with soft plastics or bait fished on the bottom.
