STRUCTURE
Pinnacle
Outer Exposed

Mussel Rock is an outer-exposed pinnacle off Tofino, British Columbia, where rocky structure rises through depths of 70 to 190 feet. Chinook Salmon peak from May through August and Coho Salmon from June through October, both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, hootchies, or trolling spoons across the pinnacle. Lingcod hold tight to the rock and respond to metal jigs, soft plastic swimbaits, and leadhead jigs worked near the bottom, with the season running May through August. Pacific Halibut move through in spring, peaking March through June, and are targeted with drift jigging using leadhead jigs and soft plastics or metal jigs. Copper Rockfish and other rockfish species work the same structure, holding along the rock face where jigs and swimbaits reach them at depth.
