Schindler Point is an outer-exposed rocky drop-off off Tofino, British Columbia, where the bottom falls from roughly 260 to 660 feet. Chinook Salmon run strongest from May through August and Coho Salmon from June through October, both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, or hootchies across the structure. Pacific Halibut hold along the deeper edges with a March-to-June peak, worked by drift jigging leadhead jigs with soft plastics or metal jigs, or bait fishing salmon heads and octopus on the bottom. Lingcod peak from May through August and respond to metal jigs, soft plastic swimbaits, and leadhead jigs worked close to the rock. Canary Rockfish, Yellowmouth Rockfish, Pacific Cod, and Spiny Dogfish share the same broken terrain, adding depth to the mix over the exposed drop.
