Hump 0.6 km SE of Miller Reef is a rocky pinnacle rising from the outer exposed waters off Ucluelet, British Columbia, with depths running from 70 to 270 feet over hard structure. Lingcod hold on this rock through their spring peak from March to May and respond to jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs, while Pacific Halibut work the surrounding bottom from April to August and come to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and soft plastics or metal jigs. Copper and Quillback Rockfish stay resident year-round across the pinnacle, taking metal jigs and soft plastic swimbaits worked close to the rock. Chinook Salmon move through from May to August and Coho from May to September, both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, hootchies, and spoons above the structure. Position drifts to keep jigs tracking along the pinnacle's edges where depth changes sharply and fish stack against the rock.
