About Cliffe Point Hump

Cliffe Point Hump is an outer-exposed rock pinnacle off Winter Harbour, British Columbia, rising through depths that run from roughly 25 to 340 feet. The structure holds Lingcod, which peak from February through April and again from June through August, alongside Pacific Halibut that concentrate from May to August over the deeper rock. Chinook Salmon move through the area from April to August and Coho from May to September, while Black Rockfish stack up over the pinnacle from May into September. Anglers work the rock and drop-offs with jigs and leadhead jigs tipped with soft plastics for Lingcod and Black Rockfish, and drift jigging with metal jigs or swimbaits over the deeper flanks for Halibut. Trolling anchovy, herring, hoochies, and spoons covers the salmon along the exposed edges of the hump.
