Jones Rock is an exposed rock pinnacle off Winter Harbour on the outer coast of British Columbia, rising through water that runs from the surface down to about 100 feet. The rocky structure holds Lingcod, which peak from February through April and again from June through August, alongside Black Rockfish that hold strongest from May through September and a mix of Copper, Quillback, and China Rockfish. Anglers work the pinnacle with metal jigs, leadhead jigs with soft plastics, and swimbaits for Lingcod, while bait fishing with whole herring, live greenling, or squid covers the same ground. Chinook Salmon move through from April to August and Coho from May to September, both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, hoochies, and trolling spoons over the outer edges. Pacific Halibut hold along the deeper bottom from May to August, where drift jigging with leadhead jigs and swimbaits reaches them across the exposed rock.
