Distances are in a straight line, not by water.

The hump 0.6 km N of Mabbott Island is a rocky pinnacle rising from the outer, exposed waters off Winter Harbour, with depths running from 185 to 410 feet. Pacific Halibut hold here through the May–Aug peak, while Lingcod concentrate on the structure from February to April and again June through August. Chinook Salmon move across the same water from April to August, and the pinnacle also holds Rougheye and Widow Rockfish, Pacific Cod, and Sablefish across its deeper flanks. Anglers work halibut with drift jigging over the rock using leadhead jigs, swimbaits, or metal jigs, backing that up with bottom bait fishing on herring, salmon bellies, or octopus. Lingcod respond to jigging with metal jigs and leadhead jigs dressed in soft plastics tight to the pinnacle, and Chinook come to trolled anchovy, herring, hoochies, or spoons over the top of the structure.
